Η Lucinda Williams γεννήθηκε το 1953 και ξεκίνησε να παίζει μουσική από μικρή (12). Ηχογράφησε 2 άλμπουμ στη δεκαετία του 80 χωρίς ιδιαίτερη επιτυχία. Η αναγνώριση ήρθε το 1998 με το αλμπουμ Car wheels on a gravel road. Με μια φωνή που μαρτυρά, ξενύχτι, τσιγάρο και ποτό, όπως λίγες, και ένα ρεπερτόριο μελαγχολικό, μάγεψε πολύ κόσμο αν και ποτέ δεν έγινε mainstream. Πρόσφατα ,στα 55 της, βρήκε τον έρωτα και την ευτυχία σε έναν συνεργάτη της, με αποτέλεσμα το πρώτο "χαρούμενο" άλμπουμ της το Little Honey. Πολλοι την θεωρούν country, αλλά σίγουρα δεν είναι η country που ξέρουμε. Ένα μίγμα country, rock, americana, alternative. Μια καταπληκτική παρουσία, μια ξανθιά ροκ ποιήτρια μιας "κάποιας" ηλικίας...
